Qualifications:

• Ability to navigate the complexities of reimbursement from many sources and allocate therapy resources effectively based on resident outcomes and goals prior to discharge.
• Physical therapy examinations, both initial and ongoing, must be carried out in accordance with APTA standards and local laws.
• Prevent the start, symptoms, and progression of impairments, functional limits, and disabilities to avoid impairments, functional limitations, and disabilities resulting from diseases, disorders, conditions, or injuries.
• Care Plans should be implemented, patients should be held accountable for following them, and timelines and plans should be modified as needed to accommodate the patient’s development.
• Provides guidance and support to the patient as they do a range of physical activities, including exercises that don’t require using their hands, functional activities that require walking, activities of daily living, and the use of assistive and supportive equipment like crutches and walkers.
• To help patients cut back on their drug use and prevent surgery, patients should be given information and training.
• Giving the client’s family and/or other caregiver’s guidance and consultation as necessary can help the patient move closer to mutually agreed-upon objectives and a discharge plan.
• Restore, maintain, and encourage optimal physical function, as well as optimal wellness, fitness, and quality of life, in terms of movement and health.
• Performs and keeps records of tests and evaluations used to ascertain the patient’s level of strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacities, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency in order to formulate or modify treatment plans.
• A physical therapist interacts with the patient’s physician and other healthcare providers to learn more about the patient, make recommendations about the treatment plan, and ensure that the patient’s physical therapy is coordinated with all other areas of care.

Skills:

• The ideal candidate will be a natural leader with a hunger for growth and development.
• Possessing experience in a medical or surgical setting, together with a background in rehabilitation or Orthopedics, is highly desirable.
• A degree in physical therapy from a school recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association is required.
• You must have at least a year of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting, such as a nursing home, hospital, or inpatient/outpatient clinic.
• Competencies in listening, caring, and pushing patients to their boundaries in a healthy way are highly sought after.
