Qualifications:

  • Payroll Processing and Data Maintenance – Enter, maintain, and process information in our payroll system, such as hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, or other compensation, hours worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other data. Verify timekeeping records and discuss any anomalies with our staff. Payroll adjustments, including new hiring, terminations, and pay rate modifications, are your responsibility. Make certain that correct payroll deductions for taxes and benefits are made. Maintain and update payroll and human resource records.
  • Instill a customer service mindset in payroll by creating reliable operational procedures, KPIs, and standards.
  • Internal/external audit and legislative protocols must be adhered to in order for payroll to be compliant.
  • Manage the company’s whole national payroll function, which includes both exempt and non-exempt personnel.
  • Build and maintain connections with important stakeholders, including as vendors, external auditors, HR, benefits, and finance, in order to achieve multi-departmental process improvements.
  • All monthly payrolls should be approved, and a strong control environment should be maintained for pay cycles.
  • Help accounting and finance to properly and rapidly reconcile payroll accounts; helps audits by giving auditors access to records and supporting data.
  • Manage the processing of multistate payrolls and make sure that all employees throughout the company are paid promptly and correctly, and that all taxes are sent to local governments in the proper manner. The processing of payroll transactions, such as salaries, benefits, garnishments, loans, taxes, and other deductions, includes, but is not restricted to, establishing, managing, and reviewing systems for payroll processing.
  • Assess the payroll department’s needs strategically and build and simplify processes and procedures.

Skills:

  • Knowledge and expertise with regard to the taxability of income, deductions, and employer-provided benefits in various jurisdictions.
  • A minimum of 3-4 years of relevant payroll experience is required.
  • A bachelor’s degree and three years of comparable work experience; or a combination of education and experience is required for this position.
  • Experience working remotely is not necessary but is viewed as an advantage.
  • Cost reporting and reimbursement knowledge and skills, including familiarity with accountable plans, relevant rules, and associated legislation.
