The Director of Accounting, who answers directly to the CFO, will oversee project accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll on a daily basis. Strong financial internal controls must be maintained and decisions affecting the Finance & Accounting organization must be made by this role. The operational managers and other teams within Finance will be directly involved in this role’s activities. Implementing and developing different business systems, such as ERP and other automation technologies, would also fall within the purview of responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Set the bar for leaders and colleagues by conducting yourself with the utmost professionalism, honesty, and discretion.
• Oversee the monthly closing of the company’s financial systems, ensuring that all activities are done on time and in accordance with the company’s accounting procedures, processes, and standards.
• An emphasis on improving systems and processes that support the company’s financial management, along with ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the analytical tools and reports used.
• Organize the installation of the forthcoming ERP platform in respect to the aforementioned responsibilities.
• Internal controls over accounting information should be maintained and enhanced. Communicate accounting procedures in a timely manner. Standard internal controls and GAAP standards must be met, as must the establishment and consistent completion of all relevant actions, including the development of accounting processes and operational procedures.
• Automate AP and AR while coordinating the creation of additional workflow solutions that support the corporate strategy.
• By working closely with the ERP IT team throughout the implementation of a new ERP system, you may improve your business skills and practices connected to accounting operations.
• Give direction and oversight to the team in charge of payroll, project accounting, and accounts payable and receivable.
• The management and guidance of departmental employees is done via goal-setting, direction, and coaching. Set departmental goals and projects in order of importance, distribute them, and provide opportunities for promotion.
• Cross-functional collaborations are critical to fostering a workplace culture of transparency and responsibility.

Skills:

• It is necessary to be able to design and take responsibility for the financial closing and reporting cycles, guaranteeing its correctness, timeliness, and conformity to GAAP requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a desire to delve deeply into processes in order to get a deeper understanding of them and effectively express their broader implications.
• When it comes to process re-engineering and its implementation, the ability to detect waste and design a solution is critical.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as the ability to successfully collaborate across departments.
