Job Description

A Dental Insurance Coordinator is needed on our team. In order to verify and organize benefits, the ideal applicant will have previous experience engaging with patients and insurance companies. Dental office management software should be second nature to you, and you should be able to update each patient’s record, run and monitor weekly and monthly reports to verify insurance payments, and upload completed insurance documents into patients’ electronic files. Dentist Insurance Coordinators should work closely with patients and explain the advantages of their insurance policies. They should also convey any insurance problems to patients, and they should resolve insurance disputes. Customer service and a professional connection with insurance companies are essential for a dental insurance coordinator to be successful in balancing patient benefits and insurance payments.

Qualifications:

  • The patient should be informed of treatment plans and costs. Assist patients with dental insurance and out-of-pocket costs.
  • Prepare presents for new customers and give them a tour of the clinic while stressing the many advantages they will get by selecting your dental practice as their provider. During the tour, be sure to point out nuances that pertain to each patient’s special care and treatment.
  • Regularly retrieving and listening to voicemails left for the clinic is essential. Use acceptable phone etiquette language on every phone call and respond to or delegate the follow-up. All incoming phone calls should be answered within three (3) rings.
  • Verifying the payment of clients and insurance companies by going through records on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. submitting for verification any insurance paperwork that have already been filled out.
  • Talk to your insurance company and Medicaid about claims, treatment plans, and pre-authorization. Correctly figure out dental benefits and co-pays, Inform the dentist and his or her staff of any annual changes to the CDT codes.
  • Inquiring about the patient’s medical coverage and educating patients and their families on their respective insurance plans Monitoring unpaid insurance claims and keeping a record of them.
  • Keep the entryway, waiting area, and front office welcoming, tidy, and professional. Clean and tidy your space on a daily basis. Vacuuming, cleaning corners and edges, mopping, dusting, removing spider webs, sweeping entrance, and wiping glass/windows are all part of a weekly deep clean.
  • Ask about any recent changes in the patient’s medical history or insurance coverage as soon as they come at your office. The dental software should have all of the most recent updates installed.
  • Get the paperwork for a new patient and look for the patient and/or patient’s family to make sure there are no duplicate patients in the system. Enter all of the information into the system and check for spelling mistakes and correct information. When the new patient is ready, let the back office know.
  • Promote collaboration by helping all staff members create a seamless, pleasant patient experience.

Skills:

  • Provide excellent customer service; have excellent communication skills; are a problem solver; are multi-taskers; are persistent
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and insurance benefits is essential for at least 2 years of dental office experience. An advantage but not a necessity is familiarity with SoftDent’s dental software
  • The capacity to communicate thoughts vocally is excellent. Understanding PPO and FFS Dental Insurance It’s impossible to exaggerate the value of rigorous preparation and execution. a basic understanding of dental office software
  • Capability of forming and sustaining long-term connections with both patients and coworkers A proven track record, an experienced perspective, and a strong desire to contribute to the success of the organization as a member of a team are all desirable qualities.
  • Open Dental Software experience preferred. High school or equivalent (preferred), 2-year dental insurance (Required)
