Job Description

This position is accountable for keeping tabs on daycares to make sure they’re following the rules. Job duties also include visiting child care facilities within the assigned counties and making recommendations to Team Leads about whether or not to approve registration applications or renewals.

Qualifications:

  • Provides training for staff, answers questions, and helps business owners with matters pertaining to child care.
  • Make sure you can adjust your schedule to accommodate health and safety inspections at odd hours, like on the weekend or after hours.
  • It’s crucial to cultivate a setting that promotes independence, honesty, and consideration among its inhabitants.
  • Allegations of child abuse and neglect are investigated and documented by joint efforts of child welfare and law enforcement personnel.
  • Child care providers are given recommendations for corrective action and deadlines for when those recommendations must be implemented.
  • In order to ensure that there is no duplication of services in the child care industry, all stakeholders in a specific area must work together as a team.
  • The committee advises the state on whether to accept or reject new child care provider applications and whether or not to revoke the registration of already-registered providers.
  • Collaborates with other staff members to develop age- and group-specific lesson plans that adhere to the center’s educational tenets and take into account the needs of individual students.
  • Inspection and evaluation of existing and prospective child care providers to ensure they are in compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • This position requires coordination with the division and IT to manage child care registration information.

Skills:

  • Possessing strong social, organizational, and communicative abilities is essential.
  • Competence in conveying information to several audiences, including upper management, customers, investors, and the general public.
  • Experience working with low-income families and familiarity with the Child Care Resource and Referral Service or child care programs are both desirable qualifications for this position.
  • An advanced degree beyond a bachelor’s is expected. Four years of experience in educational administration or teaching.
  • Able to read and assess general business publications, as well as comprehending technical procedures and regulatory requirements, are all required.
