The Life Coach assists selected clients in obtaining daily living skills and regular activities/chores on a one-on-one basis. As defined in the customer’s daily routine, provides one-on-one coverage to the designated client. Assist identified client in keeping all outside appointments and activities on track by providing transportation and reporting client successes and information to program personnel.

Qualifications:

• Capacity to build and maintain professional connections with customers, workers, and community agencies; teamwork skills; ability to accept responsibility with little supervision and direction.

• Be patient, kind, and honest. Use sensitivity and excellent judgment while dealing with residents, relatives, visitors, and employees.
• As desired, training in daily living and coping, social and socio-sexual skills, as well as support services, helped the person develop toward independence.
• Encourages the social and communal integration of an individual in accordance with the individual’s own personal or cultural preferences as well as the goals of the treatment plan. These are only few of many possible scenarios.
• The site must be properly supervised, and this includes being aware of any treatment difficulties that participants may need.
• Check in on residents every 15 minutes with the prior shift. Before leaving, check on incoming shift. Before leaving, check with nurse.
• Encourage a pleasant atmosphere for the member by inspiring, acknowledging, and involving participation via appropriate communication and customized techniques.
• Gathering information from all relevant parties is a necessary step in completing the requirements assessment.
• Provide assistance with personal hygiene, if such is the case. Assist individuals in maintaining their personal hygiene and dignity by showering, dressing for the season, grooming, shaving, combing hair, and putting on shoes.

Skills:

• Competency in working with large groups for a whole year, including the ability to gather and analyze data to design and implement effective plans for the group’s future progress. Intuitive and effective interpersonal, leadership, and motivating abilities
• Ability to effectively solve problems while paying close attention to detail Sensitivity to, as well as experience dealing with, people living in low-income situations, Capability to distinguish between personal and professional matters, as well as to establish clear limits with members
• At least two years of direct experience in social service, including at least one year working with low-income, homeless, or domestic violence victims.
• A wide range of demographics, including those with special needs, those who have been or are presently engaged in the child welfare system, and those who live below the poverty line.
• Prior experience dealing with people who have developmental impairments or mental disorders, or training in a relevant field, is greatly encouraged.
