We’re looking for a Junior Financial Analyst to help our DoD client with their corporate financial management. As a part of the Government Furnished Equipment Directorate Support Team, the Junior Financial Analyst does financial analysis.

Qualifications:

  • During the Operational/Organizational Assessment or other organizational realignments or corrections, it is anticipated that more FMD activities would be identified.
  • Data query and data management tools are required abilities for any financial analyst job description, and competence with Excel is required (Access, SQL, Business Objects)
  • Performs sensitivity analysis and takes into account the effects of different financing structures, utility rate structures, tax policies, and Federal and state policy supports to give a full picture of the business case for the project. Helps the government prepare large-scale renewable energy projects by giving advice.
  • This solution also handles accounts receivable and payable, bank reconciliation, and timesheet reconciliation.
  • Analyze and report on the financial elements of the IT operations of the organization, including monthly/quarterly forecasting and capacity management; accruals; costs; and labor efficiency.
  • Track all pledges, obligations and expenses to ensure that the activities being carried out are meeting their periodic goals. Assist with the financial execution and strategy formulation for certain projects.
  • Using excellent analytical ability and real-world experience, examines project commercial and financial challenges. Integrates a comprehensive life-cycle cost analysis to help the GOV evaluate opportunities and identify key business risks.
  • Help in planning, analyzing, making suggestions, implementing, reporting, managing, delivering, and maintaining newly identified budget and financial projects within set timescales that might otherwise have an effect on day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure that all departmental guidelines are adequately and promptly conveyed. Manage lease accounting, which includes keeping track of important dates, updating schedules, processing invoices, entering journal entries, and reconciling accounts.
  • Contribute to the development of the budget and strategic strategies. Communicate with all levels of management to complete all budgets. Analyze the difference between actual performance and budgets

Skills:

  • There is no need for a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, although it is desirable. Working understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as other applications.
  • 5 years of professional experience in program/project management in DOD acquisition; or 5 years of professional experience in program/project management in Navy acquisition, with proven and specialized expertise, preferably in Navy/DOD Financial Management procedures.
  • Must have expertise analyzing energy use, rates, life cycle costs, and business case techniques for big private projects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, Positive attitude and ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • A minimum of two years of accounting/finance experience is required; previous knowledge with financial analysis is an asset. An advantage would be having previous experience working in a consumer goods store.
