Financial and commercial transaction data is prepared and maintained in accordance with approved protocols by the Accounting Coordinator, who also generates reports to guarantee accurate accounting records. Performs entry-level accounting and sophisticated clerical tasks. Accomplishes low-level accounting and bookkeeping duties. Reconciles and verifies the correctness of financial records by entering entries into a journal or voucher. Confirmation, sorting, archiving and posting of all types of claims, bills, invoices and vouchers. Professionally communicates with customers, vendors, and coworkers, ensuring that all inquiries are promptly and correctly addressed. – Fulfills all duties entrusted to him or her in order to effectively serve the needs of the department or organization.

Qualifications:

  • Vendor file upkeep and payment reconciliations, as well as the resolving of invoice disputes.
  • Check that all of the papers are accurate (customer, lien holder, manufacturer, county and financial information)
  • Responds to general member service enquiries pertaining to member accounts, billing inquiries, payments, high bill concerns, member complaints, notice of outage occurrences, and other service order type operations by phone or walk-in members.
  • Ensures departments are correctly using software and creates quarterly departmental reports for dissemination as part of the budgeting process.
  • Member service orders, such as new member connections, transfers, meter swaps, issue calls, and excessive bill concerns, are processed and updated in the customer information system.
  • Tracks and reports operational budgets and supports department managers in evaluating and describing budget performance.
  • Participates in training courses to increase their skills, knowledge, and workplace safety.
  • Assists in the assessment and balancing of subsidiary ledgers with the general ledger control accounts, including material inventories, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

Skills:

  • Mathematical abilities include the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, regular fractions, and decimals. Being able to calculate percentages, ratios, and rates as well as to create and analyze graphs.

  • A two-year college or technical school associate’s degree with a focus in finance and/or accounting, or the equivalent, is preferred, as is one to two years of related experience, or a comparable mix of education and experience.
