Job Description

It is the role of the Teacher Assistant to assist instructors in their daily activities so that they may devote more time to teaching. Qualifications:

  • Develop weekly lesson plans using age-appropriate techniques and enrichment activities for certain age levels, function as the after-care, camp, or summer classroom’s main instructor, and make sure all paperwork is in order (attendance sheets).
  • For example, in the absence of a classroom teacher, a substitute teacher assumes full responsibility for the classroom and delivers a weekly lesson plan.
  • This person’s responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and schedules for the classroom, as well as performing administrative tasks such collecting and folding materials, typing, laminating, and taking phone calls.
