On a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis, the Tax Analyst will help our Tax Manager with all motor fuel tax and sales/use tax returns. As a Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining tax exemptions in our ERP system and ensuring that all relevant exemption certificates are on file and up-to date. An eye for detail and sharp analytical abilities are a must for this profession.

  • Despite the fact that this position’s major focus is on compliance and audits, the Analyst will be engaged in various efforts to assist the Company simplify its current processes by using a number of technology-based solutions.
  • Create and review quarterly income tax estimates. Processing and making expected and annual tax returns and payments via an external CPA office, gathering data and executing calculations required for corporate income tax return preparation, including but not limited to book-to-tax reconciliation.
  • Discovering and understanding the ramifications of various tax difficulties is an important part of resolving them. To handle tax notifications and other tax-related difficulties, communicate externally and internally. Increase your understanding of corporate/partnership income tax laws.
  • Prepare quarterly and yearly income tax provisions support documents. The timely filing and processing of tax returns, extensions, and expected tax payments is essential. On-call support for particular projects like audits.
  • To address jurisdictional tax notifications, you must be able to communicate successfully with both state and federal tax offices.
  • Using financial data and collaborating with other finance departments to address payment difficulties Accomplished in assisting executives with complex research projects and audits.
  • Respond to motor fuels and sales/use tax audit queries, including gathering relevant support and backup paperwork, to assist Tax Manager.
  • Gather supporting data for different federal and state tax authority letters and audits, reply to them, and keep track of any associated conversations. Prepare additional non-income tax returns.
  • Use critical thinking to evaluate and anticipate prospective tax and reporting demands in order to optimize benefits throughout the whole business.
  • Account for income taxes and filings in line with corporate policy; Check the correctness and timeliness of sales tax reports and returns to verify that they are submitted promptly.


  • Leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills are all critical components of any organization. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of accounting or financial expertise before being considered.
  • The ability to adapt to a continually changing environment while exhibiting great planning and prioritizing abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to maintain positive working relationships with important stakeholders are required. Strong computer abilities and extensive Excel understanding. Experience with OneSource is desired.
  • Understanding of tax concepts, such as corporate income tax, sales and use tax, income tax accounting, and fundamental tax research.
  • It is ideal to have more than two years of sales and use tax reporting experience, especially in motor fuel tax submissions. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
