We need an entry-level to five-year geotechnical engineer. This role supports geotechnical engineering for waterfront, dam, and site/civil engineering projects, including foundations, retaining walls, earth support, slopes, and ground improvements.   • To sustain dams and levees and other structures like trash dumps, senior engineering professionals are to supervise assessments of slope stability, seepage, and/or settlement.
  • Perform slope stability assessments, seismic evaluations, shallow and deep foundation designs, ground improvement designs, excavation and shoring evaluations, and other demanding technical evaluations.
  • Provide geotechnical engineering services and aid Project Managers in delivering mining, infrastructure, and water resources project services to the public and private sector customers of the company.
  • Assist in the creation of technical proposals, cost estimates, engineering reports, drawings, specifications, and other deliverables connected with design projects, including day-to-day contact.
  • Carry out a variety of field duties, including subsurface testing and study of soil and bedrock in conjunction with building and design projects for foundations. Inspecting test borings, overseeing the construction of deep and shallow foundations, and making ground modifications might all fall under this category.
  • Manage and deliver laboratory and field geotechnical and construction materials testing projects in a safe manner, on schedule, within budget, and to the client’s satisfaction in accordance with project specifications.
  • Prepare engineering calculations and analyses related to material quantities, embankments, shallow and deep foundations, settlement, soil and rock slope stability, and retaining walls as directed by senior engineering staff.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the phosphate mining process, including clay settlement area design, water management, and mined land recovery.
  • Use of traditional or computer-aided technical devices to do calculations (e.g., slope stability, excavation support, settlement)
  • Design landfill and waste containment systems, geotechnical instrumentation, environmental cleaning, earthquake engineering, and offshore field studies.


  • Education and training in foundation engineering, slope stability, and seismic assessment evaluations can help find technical solutions that work in the real world.
  • Capability to operate in all weather conditions in harsh and, at times, distant field environments. Ability to travel large distances and sometimes spend the night on the road.
  • Outstanding writing and verbal communication skills; excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment abilities; ability to operate well alone and in a team context
  • A degree in civil or geological engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or university with geotechnical engineering course work, EIT Certification or capacity to earn EIT Certification within 6 months.
  • Field exploration and instrumentation expertise pertaining to subsurface investigations, including diverse drilling techniques, dug test pits, geophysics, and installation and monitoring of inclinometers and groundwater transducers.
