Full-Time Engineering Technician III (1 pm shift) – Ruwais
Job Description
Using python, C, C++, bash shell, or another language relevant to the task, an Engineering Technician will create test execution and analysis code and scripts. These scripts/code will run tests, collect test artefacts, process test artefacts to decide pass/fail, and save the results in a stack. There will be work on the stack to consume and visualize the data, as well as report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). They’ll be able to work under supervision, document and present their findings, and troubleshoot problems.

Qualifications:
- Participates in design assignments and stake/field layout design components for construction projects; compiles, researches, and evaluates a range of engineering and operational data; examine the state of a road’s condition and assess the necessary repairs or resurfacing procedures inspects construction to verify that plans and project standards are adhered to at each work site; manages a number of fiefdoms.
- Develops construction specifications and reviews contractor specifications for compliance with established rules and regulations; organizes bid proposals and calculates cost estimates; prepares contract documents for projects and all required permitting; reviews materials, labor, and equipment costs to verify accuracy; and provides technical guidance for construction as needed.
- Prepares plans, skilled engineering drawings, specifications, details, maps, plats, and other displays for engineering projects using GPS, GIS, and CADD software; and works with engineers and other staff to aid in the development of solutions for resolving City infrastructure needs.
- Among his or her responsibilities include keeping electronic and hardcopy records of daily department activity; completing project records and design/drawing files for assigned projects; and keeping database files up to date as needed.
- Provides engineering customer service, meets with professional design consultants, organizes public outreach and produces information for dissemination, draughts letters and bulk mailings for project explanations, and answers to citizen concerns, queries, and complaints.
- Engineering concepts and procedures are used to calculate ratios, volumes and other project components as required by the project’s specifications; offers cost estimates; and checks third-party contractor computations.

- Inquiries into a broad variety of residential and commercial plans for compliance with local legislation and building standards, as well as evaluations of designs and preliminary findings on technical compliance difficulties. Coordinating with third-party architects and engineers to resolve issues and offer guidance for code compliance; analyzing and/or correcting deviations or violations; and providing recommendations for approval and/or corrections
- The goal of machine repair is to get a machine up and running again. Finding out why things aren’t working (when necessary). We expect you to replace obsolete or malfunctioning components, motors, and controllers.
- A person who collects data and provides written legal descriptions of property in accordance with grant, permit, and environmental regulatory requirements. CAD map creation and/or update to collect information on grants, licenses, and environmental restrictions and to act on that information
Skills:
- You must have three years of experience in civil engineering surveying or drawing or any other sub-professional civil engineering job that equips you with the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for this role.
- All candidates who have been provisionally approved for VA employment in a testing-specified job are submitted to a urinalysis in order to screen for illegal drug usage prior to being appointed to their positions. Applicants who refuse to take the exam will have their applications rejected by the Veterans Administration.
- It is necessary to have a working understanding of roadway design software as well as computer operations. Work with computer-related products including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble, the internet, spreadsheets, word processing, State software for road and bridge, and other applications as needed or taught.
- It is necessary to have communication abilities.
- An undergraduate degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer system engineering, or a closely comparable engineering degree is required for this position.
