The Radiologist conducts simple to sophisticated diagnostic radiography procedures under the direction of a qualified physician with little to no supervision. Provides health care services, using x-ray energy, to aid in the diagnosis or treatment of patients of all ages, using expert judgment.

Qualifications:

• Maintains aseptic medical and surgical procedures / employs effective infection control measures, and can thoroughly explain the universal precaution concept.
• Determine if the patient is experiencing any pain that may be interfering with the imaging technique, contact the appropriate physician for assistance, and continue with the PI process.
• After completing their examinations, patients are directed to the radiology department, where they are placed on an x-ray table and instructed on the proper ways to breathe and position their bodies for the finest possible pictures to be taken.
• Maintains adherence to the department’s exam protocols, modifies patient procedures in accordance with the patient’s physical and cognitive capabilities, and accurately bills for all examinations carried out.
• Safe and efficient patient care is provided by the nurse. Radiation safety requirements are strictly adhered to when necessary.. Working knowledge of cardiac principles and clinical processes is essential.
• It is essential to record every picture so that the patient and physician are aware of any outcomes that may be of interest to them. The technique utilized to get radiography pictures determines their order.
• Sophisticated percutaneous surgeries such as peripheral interventions may be performed at the same time. For an external pacemaker and defibrillator to work well, it must be operated by someone who is competent to recognize cardiac arrhythmias and react to emergency procedures appropriately. Intervenes with the necessary therapy in cases of cardiac emergencies.
• A patient ID, date, technologist ID, and time of test must be clearly indicated on all examinations. Protects patients while they are being transported and during operations. Ensures that all designated agencies, state and federal rules, and other applicable laws are followed.
• Prepares and dispenses contrast media and/or drugs in accordance with the approved scope of practice and relevant state and federal laws. Observes the patient during the surgery and notes any unusual behavior. Monitors protocols and proposes modifications or improvements as needed.
• offers diagnostic support by scanning a patient’s organs or body, and it also helps doctors with treatments that aren’t done in a hospital. Before preparing and placing a patient, they accurately figure out what they need in terms of anatomy and technology.

Skills:

• An official license has been obtained. To practice, one must be an American Board of Radiology fellow. Everybody should join the Medical Protective Association (or equivalent).
• Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or registry eligibility; Registration as a Registered Radiologic Technologist RT(R) or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited medical college and radiology residency.
• Being well-versed in every facet of diagnostic imaging requires that Radiology expertise is greatly encouraged, but not required. Vitals-taking experience
• The state may demand licensing and/or a fluoroscopy permit. Current BCLS certification is required (AHA), A minimum of one year of acute clinical radiography experience is desirable. JRCERT or ABHES-approved program graduate
