Job Description

We are looking for an Electronics Engineer to assist in the construction, testing, and launch of satellites, as well as ground support equipment (GSE) operations and maintenance (O&M) (GSE). Assemble, integrate, and test electronic/electrical ground and flight subsystems and systems with the assistance of the Ground Operations group.

Qualifications:

  • Perform design engineer functions for Distribution Power Electronics products, such as essential engineering and distribution system analysis beginning with the initial planning stages and continuing through study, design, and testing. These functions can take place at any stage of the product development process. Give assistance in the areas of producing Distribution FACTS devices, installing them, and verifying their functionality in the field.
  • Participate in the design, development, and testing of sophisticated power electronics, such as converters and inverters, using medium to high power switching components (>500kW and higher) and related protection and gating circuits. Provide solutions for many applications by designing hardware with the right semiconductors (IGBTs, GTOs, GCTs, Thyristors, and so on).
  • Perform production support, technical and status briefings, trade studies, technical analysis and reports, failure analysis, and electrical and electronic design.
  • You will be assisting in the creation of new proposals, from technical ideas to budgets and schedules.
  • Control and manage critical components such as solar panel arrays, power regulation and distribution, and high-density batteries, Work closely with the technical team to integrate these technologies into the spaceship as much as possible..
  • You will be responsible for leading the development of power electronics systems, directing architectural and design decisions, comprehending the requirements of the system, and ensuring that the design is suitable for the application.
  • Do verification testing on newly designed goods and systems, run cost and reliability analyses on the product, and give instructions for putting prototypes and production runs together and testing them.
  • Use software like PSLF, PSS/E, PSCAD, EMTP, and others to study power flow, transient stability, reactive planning, infrastructure re-enforcement, generator connections, and other related topics, such as the simulation of SVC, STATCOM, and other equipment.
  • Compile and analyze operational test data and research data to determine if new or upgraded equipment/products meet functional requirements.
  • Assist with power converter topology design and development; the use of active semiconductor switching devices; and the use of passive components necessary for converter power circuits (capacitors, inductors, transformers, etc). Using advanced power electronics, such as converters or inverters. Use the correct semiconductors in hardware design to provide solutions for a wide range of applications (IGBTs, GTOs, GCTs, Thyristors, etc.).

Skills:

  • Design, development, manufacture, assembly, and testing of power electronics or analogue hardware, especially in space.
  • Power electronics design skill. Control and modulation for power electronics, power electronics circuit modelling and simulation, magnetic component design and selection, switching device selection, testing and gate driver design, schematic drawing and PCB layout, basic thermal management and heat sink selection, etc.
  • MathCAD, Simulink and PSpice are just a few of the computer simulation programmers that must be mastered in order to conduct a thorough examination of a system’s circuitry.
  • Ability to work well in a team and effectively communicate both orally and in writing Excellent abilities in time management, organization, and follow-through.
  • At a bare minimum, a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related technical field, in addition to at least nine years of experience in a relevant capacity; alternatively, a master’s or doctoral degree in a related field, in addition to at least seven years of experience in a relevant capacity.
