In this interesting Electronics Engineer post, you’ll create electronics readout systems for cutting-edge experiments and research. You’ll develop detectors and data collecting readout systems using electronics. Your responsibilities will include circuit modelling, design, layout, manufacturing, debugging, and test stand creation for scientific data collection systems.

Qualifications:

• The ability to guide and regulate the design and architecture of power electronics systems is important to an application’s success.
• Power flow, transient stability, reactive planning, infrastructure re-enforcement, generator connections, and related studies utilizing PSLF, PSS/E, PSCAD, EMTP, and others.
• Production support, technical and status briefs, trade studies, generating technical analysis and reports and failure analysis, as well as the occasional electrical and electronic design, are some of the daily duties of the production engineer.
• Compose a database to gather operational and research data that may be used to define performance criteria for new or updated equipment/products.
• Undertake verification testing on new designs and products, perform product cost and reliability analysis, and give prototype assembly and testing instructions.
• To work with switching components with medium to high power (>500kW and up) and the protection and gating circuits that go with them to design, develop, and test complex power electronics like converters and inverters. Design hardware with the right semiconductors to solve problems for different applications (IGBTs, GTOs, GCTs, Thyristors, etc.).
• Assist with the design and development of power converter architecture, active semiconductor switching devices, and passive converter power circuit components (capacitors, inductors, transformers, etc). Converters and inverters are examples of power electronics. Make hardware with the right semiconductors to tackle a variety of issues (IGBTs, GTOs, GCTs, Thyristors, etc.).
• Provide assistance with the preparation of new proposals, including the formulation of technical concepts, the compilation of budgets, and the building of schedules, as needed.
• Control key components such as solar panel arrays, power regulation and distribution and high-density batteries. Assist the technical team with the integration of the various systems.
• Join in the design process for Distribution Power Electronics products at every stage, from planning to testing. This group will assist with the production, installation, and field testing of Distribution FACTS devices.

Skills:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with at least nine years of relevant experience, or a Master’s in a related field with at least seven years of relevant experience, or even a Ph.D. in a relevant field with at least five years of relevant experience are all acceptable qualifications.
• A strong foundation in designing power electronic components. If you are an engineer who has worked on kW-level power electronics devices, you should apply. This includes the ability to build and simulate power electronics circuits, as well as create magnetic components, switching devices, gate drivers, schematics, and PCB layouts.
• Accurate verbal and written communication skills are a must, as well as excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Experience designing, developing, fabricating, assembling, and testing power electronics or analogue hardware, especially in space conditions.
• Expertise in the examination of circuits and systems via the use of various computer simulation tools (MatLAB, MathCAD, Simulink, PSpice, and others), Computational expertise at an advanced level, with a focus on the Microsoft Office suite of tools.
