Qualifications:

• Develop fresh ideas from technical concepts to budgets and timelines with your assistance.
• Take part in all phases of the design process for Distribution Power Electronics products, from basic planning to final testing. Manufacturing, installation, and field testing of Distribution FACTS devices are supported.
• To work with switching components with medium to high power (>500kW and up) and the protection and gating circuits that go with them to design, develop, and test complex power electronics like converters and inverters. Design hardware with the right semiconductors to solve problems for different applications (IGBTs, GTOs, GCTs, Thyristors, etc.).
• Studies on the simulation of equipment like SVC and STATCOM may be done using software packages such as PSLF, PSS/E, PSCAD, and EMTP. Conducting these studies requires the use of a wide range of software packages.
• Direct the development of power electronics systems by directing architectural and design decisions, comprehending system requirements, and ensuring the design’s fit for the application.
• Do daily tasks like production support, technical and status briefings, trade studies, preparing technical analysis and reports, failure analysis, and sometimes electrical and electronic design.
• Verify new designs and products, analyses product cost and reliability, and give assembly and test instructions for prototypes and production runs.
• Compile and analyze operational test data, as well as research data, to see whether new or upgraded equipment/products meet functional requirements.
• Oversee the operation of critical elements including solar panel arrays, power regulation and distribution systems, and high-density battery storage systems, The engineering team should be involved in every step of this integration.
• Power converter design and development, active semiconductor switching devices and passive converter power circuit components are some of the topics covered (capacitors, inductors, transformers, etc). Inverters, converters, and other power electronics. Use the right semiconductors to tackle a wide range of issues (IGBTs, GTOs, GCTs, Thyristors, etc.).

Skills:

• Power electronics and analogue hardware design, development, manufacturing, assembly, and testing, with a focus on power systems and analogue electronics in space conditions.
• Capacity to perform well in a group setting and to communicate well both verbally and in writing Excellent skills in time management, organization, and follow-through are also required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical subject area, along with a typical minimum of 9 years of experience in the relevant field; or Master’s degree in similar disciplines, along with a typical minimum of 7 years of experience; or Ph.D. in similar disciplines, along with a typical minimum of 5 years of experience; or
• Power-electronics design experience. Control and modulation methods for power electronics, power electronics circuit modelling and simulation, magnetic component design and selection, switching device selection, testing and gate driver design, schematic drawing and PCB layout, basic thermal management and heat sink selection, etc.
• Circuit and system analysis using computer simulation tools (MatLAB, MathCAD, Simulink, PSpice, and others), Microsoft Office abilities are a plus.
