To produce high-quality visual products, the videographer blends their skill in videography with an academic sensibility and creative media learning methods. The videographer is aware of the diplomatic skills and group collaboration required to function well and efficiently within varied interrelated teams. They are able to find technical solutions, operate within operational limitations, and effectively manage complex pre-production planning and shooting.

Qualifications:

• collaborates with the Technical Services team to assist with video production and editing.
• works together with the production crew and location workers to organize and record pre-production activities.
• Specifies in advance the technical resources, such as lighting, sound, backdrops, and particular requirements, that will be needed for video projects.
• Plans media ingest and coverage in coordination with the Director of Multimedia and the Media Coordinator.
• Advises relevant personnel on technical specifications and the use of technical equipment for each event.
• Makes recommendations to the Technical Director and Deputy Director of Operations regarding capital purchases of video equipment.
• Purchases, rents, and/or borrows equipment as necessary while staying within certain financial constraints as directed by the Technical Director.
• Contributes to the success of the Technical Services team by filling in as needed on projects outside of video production.
• participates in the video style palette’s creation, use, evaluation, and updating.
• Manages, sets up, and records video shoots using knowledge of post-production, video, and camera techniques.

Skills:

• There is a requirement for a minimum of five years of experience working in digital and multi-media, as well as a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in the field.
• Capability to mentor and/or collaborate successfully with internal and external partners involved in video production.
• Discretionary handling of sensitive data is not new to you.
• The capacity to work effectively and appropriately in a dynamic, cross-unit team context.
• Capability to work well with a wide variety of on-screen talent, team members, partners, and stakeholders.
