Job Description

It is the job of a Digital Media Specialist to design and produce print publications as well as create websites and other digital media. City initiatives, programs, events and aspirations are supported and promoted by the City’s Office of Communications and Public Affairs. Examples of tasks include, but are not limited to: researching; writing; producing; photographing and editing video material; developing social media content; maintaining the city’s social media presence; designing and updating city-related websites, digital displays, and advertisements/publications. Involve yourself in the promotion of other departments’ activities and goals by working together. Helping with the creation and distribution of press releases, as well as building good relationships with the media, may all be part of your role. Third-party marketing companies for contact management might be engaged as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Maintain customer relationships and look for ways to improve client efficiency via programming.
  • Participation in the preparation of presentations and the dissemination of information to management. Preparing notes during meetings and on weekly phone conversations in order to aid in the development of strategic and tactical ideas for the organization.
  • Creates and develops digital content with the help of commercial partners. Ensures that set contact standards are fulfilled when writing, editing, and reviewing material. Achieves a constant flow of up-to-date and comprehensive product/service information to current and future consumers through digital media sources. Audits are conducted on a regular basis across all of the company’s digital assets.
  • Quality control includes anything from search engine optimization to ensuring that all of a website’s links operate properly. When evaluating campaigns and programs, online analytics should be used and analyzed.
  • Digital media equipment should be bought or repaired, and you should make recommendations. Diagnose and fix problems with your digital media system. Create cost estimates for different types of equipment. Provide care for university resources.
  • Collaborate with Acquisition Manager to improve partner performance, including creative agencies, paid digital platforms, and affiliate/incentivized traffic agencies.
  • Prepares submissions for program recognition and publishing; leads and directs marketing efforts; creates and tracks citizen surveys and communications.
  • The digital analytics team should be involved in developing reporting, analysis, and optimization recommendations for sponsored social campaigns; working together will assist to ensure the validity and accuracy of campaign reporting in the future.
  • To help offer strategic/tactical suggestions, assist in developing presentations and updates for management.
  • Website material should be checked for outdated information and updated as required. This includes updating photos, video embeds, and textual content.
