Job Description

The Credit Analyst will closely collaborate with the deal team to examine, evaluate, and keep track of all credit facilities in their portfolio. As a Credit Analyst, the employee will gain exposure to other divisions within the Bank and study the fundamentals of deal making and loan structures. The Credit Analyst position in banking is a great entry point for many additional options, such as sales, credit, relationship management, loan review, or other roles of a same nature. The Credit Analyst conducts a thorough analysis of the borrower’s ability to repay, concentrating on the company and owner’s history, recent and historical financial performance, guarantor’s financial situation (if applicable), collateral performance, risk rating, risk-adjusted return on capital, and a number of other factors.

Qualifications:

  • Prior to the proposal’s public distribution, make any necessary edits to account for developments discussed during negotiations.
  • Populate facility and client data as necessary prior to routing proposals for approval.
  • The reporting Excel spreadsheets that each division uses are monitored and kept up to date.
  • Make the application results and rationale for selection available to the appropriate departments and customers.
  • Accurately and promptly address all credit-related questions, concerns, and requests in compliance with established policies and practices.
  • Collaborating with partners from diverse departments or lines of business to provide specifics to credit facility bids for new construction, current construction, and data maintenance
  • To ascertain if accounts provide a risk that is permitted under the Credit Policy, examine merchant applications.
  • Participate in credit meetings and hone your presentation skills so you can confidently pitch credit possibilities and adjustments to your internal credit partners.
  • confirming credit applications and bank references by phone or fax, then using that information to make decisions in line with the credit policy.
  • In conjunction with the closing coordinators, check to see that the loan closure has no negative impact on the customer.

Skills:

  • Effective written and spoken communication skills are needed when creating and delivering reports and processes, as well as when writing daily contact with peers, vendors, and upper-level management.
  • familiarity with computers and skill with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel.
  • a capacity for effectively managing time across many projects and tasks while sticking to important deadlines.
  • Capacity to analyze situations, identify key aspects, and propose new courses of action.
  • Expertise in a wide variety of mathematical calculations, including percentages, fractions, decimals, percentages, discounts, interests, commissions, and ratios.
