Professional Cost Estimators are needed to expand our team. The Cost Estimator will collaborate with other contractor engineers and program managers as well as government engineers and program managers to support the government program office teams. Conduct scientific work that includes the creation, development, and adaption of mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific procedures and techniques. Manage, monitor, and/or lead the work. Analyze management issues and provide counsel and insight into the outcomes of potential solutions.

Qualifications:

• Assist in conducting fact searches, audits, and negotiations on behalf of customers while working collaboratively with a worldwide, cross-functional team that includes representatives from Contracts and Finance.
• There should be regular updates to the project’s information system (e-Builder), You should keep an eye on the correctness of your cost estimates (e.g., budget vs bid results)
• Performing the Task of Preparing a Cost Analysis This task entails preparing a cost analysis on a computer by detailing the material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead expenses involved in the installation of goods and categorizing them on the corporate server.
• Manage the communication between the design team, subcontractors, and in-house staff members.. Subcontractors are asked for price quotes. Any errors or omissions in the cited items or the computer database are reported to the immediate supervisor.
• The Cost Estimating Division will design a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that will be used to create, list, roll up, and summarize cost estimates.
• Collaborate with the Technical Support and Product Management teams to validate the economic viability of assigned product lines and their position in the competitive landscape.
• Make use of the outputs provided by cost estimate software in order to evaluate the effect that a variety of variables have on the amount of money required to plan, conduct research and development on, run, maintain, and eventually get rid of a certain weapon system.
• Gather and reduce data, provide facts for analysis, and make mathematical statements to set up the problem.
• Develop presentations and brief senior leadership on program cost positions, the effect of budget adjustments, and other cost-related concerns.
• As required by the Cost Estimator, create cost estimates for all project deliverables, including studies, conceptual design choices, preliminary design, and final design. As needed for project budget management, create and negotiate estimates for Additional / Credit Change Orders in construction and contractor bid packages.

Skills:

• Knowledge of ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and machine tool industry materials and component costs, as well as the ability to read and understand part drawings (including GD&T).
• This role needs knowledge of metal assembly best practices and efficiency techniques within the sign or fabrication industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or architecture necessary; or any degree with construction/design-related experience desirable; 2+ years of continuous electrical cost estimating expertise for vertical building/engineering projects strongly preferred.
• Capability to comprehend and properly interpret construction papers at all stages of design (drawings, specifications, contracts/general conditions).
• Basic knowledge and expertise with basic statistics and statistical reporting is required for success in the field of arithmetic. An understanding of wind loads, welding and riveting processes, and steel structural weight loads is preferred.
