We are looking for an Associate Editor to join our team of food-obsessed writers and editors. The ideal candidate should be able to leverage search terms and current research to update recipe galleries and recipe head notes. This person will produce dynamic content, edit text, and help other editors create stories across platforms. This position’s duties include writing and updating recipes, cooking procedures, and other aspects of home cuisine.

Qualifications:

• Making a detailed strategy for each story, including verifiable sources, background information and formatting rules and deadlines.
• Manage journal submission, publication, and transfer volume goals, as well as target turnaround time frames, effectively on an annual basis.
• Always be on the lookout for and evaluating departmental systems and processes with the goal of designing and implementing innovative solutions that will improve how we do business.
• Enhance the quality of your journals to ensure that the Editors in Chief and Editorial Board Members (EBM) on whom we depend are as engaged as possible.
• Integrating various forms of content, including recipes and tales, into the brand’s overarching editorial strategy by analyzing and expressing (digital, print, social, podcast, video, etc)
• Recommendations for items or procedures, interviews with chefs or home cooks, and other service-oriented features for periodicals.
• provide remarks and recommendations that are both well written and well spoken when it comes to information that may not be suitable for broadcast. Excessive violence or explicit language, emulation, commercial product placement, or other images that would not be suitable for broadcast are all examples of this.
• Make sure that commercials are in line with corporate brand standards and regulatory requirements from the first idea to the final edit. Also, look at a wide range of marketing, scientific, and other evidence that is used to back up advertising claims.
• Build effective working relationships with colleagues in production, JEO, IT, and other departments to guarantee that any difficulties with your journal, particularly those experienced by authors, editors, and peer reviewers, can be resolved swiftly and effectively.
• Create an environment that facilitates cross-departmental collaboration on content creation and editorial direction.

Skills:

• know how to write for the web and use tools like Adobe Photoshop
• Three to five years of journalistic or writing experience is required for nominations, as well as some knowledge of search engine optimization and newsletter design.
• It is essential that you have the capacity to multitask and manage a large volume of time-sensitive tasks in an environment that is both dynamic and fast-paced.
• capable of communicating and working across departments (Art, Photography, and the Test Kitchen), with people at all levels inside and outside the organization, and in a variety of situations
• Flexibility to collaborate with personnel at all levels on a regular basis, as well as the ability to operate as part of a team
