Qualifications:

• Concrete is compressed using a vibrating machine. In freshly poured concrete, anchor bolts, steel plates, and other concrete fittings are placed. This may be done using a sponge rubber float or burlap.
• A variety of papers, such as reports or work orders, are provided to you for completion; you then process the information and either send it on or preserve it for your records.
• Large things are lifted/moved; materials are shoveled; debris/litter is collected; signs are erected; and more are done as part of department tasks.
• Repairing damaged concrete surfaces by using a range of various kinds of cementitious materials.
• The tasks of the Concrete Finisher involve operating machines and doing manual labor in the construction and finishing of concrete surfaces, as well as aiding with other Public Works projects.
• Maintains equipment in good working condition by inspecting and cleaning it on a regular basis; monitors equipment operations for efficiency and safety; reports malfunctioning equipment.
• Workers, government officials, the general public, and others communicate by telephone and/or two-way radio; information is disseminated; and messages are received, transmitted, and reacted to.
• You’ll need a dump truck, front-end loader, backhoe tamping machine, cement mixer, chainsaw, and concrete saw. A wide range of mechanical and concrete tools are also necessary for this position.
• On floors, walls, ceilings, and sidewalks, leveling the top surface of newly poured concrete. To cure the surface of concrete, hardening and sealing agents are applied.
• Ascertains the right construction of the forms that support the concrete, then sets and aligns the forms to the necessary pitch and depth.

Skills:

• This position requires excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities.
• Assisting with a maximum of 150 pounds, he can lift 50 pounds and carry at least 30 pounds.
• A high school graduation or GED is required for this employment, as is two years of experience or training in concrete or masonry. You may also apply any other relevant training and skills to complete the work.
• In the summer months (70+ hours per week and nights), be prepared to work a variety of shifts and shift patterns (days, nights).
• When completing a project on schedule, it is essential to be able to adhere to all safety regulations while communicating effectively with colleagues and management.
