Qualifications:

• Detailed preparation and organization of tasks are performed in response to both oral and written directives.
• Lathes, mills, and grinders, among others, will fall under your purview as you perform your duties here.
• Solve problems by making use of available instruments, materials, software, and hardware. Determine how the machine’s performance can be enhanced and suggest changes to the specifications of the individual components.
• Perform intricate progressive turning, drilling, milling, and tapping operations to produce a specified number of component components.
• The finished goods must pass a thorough inspection to guarantee they are fault-free and up to code.
• Fabricates and shapes metal components to tight tolerances using a variety of machinist’s hand tools and precise measuring equipment; performs standard shop calculations involving work dimensions, tooling, feeds, and cutting speeds.
• Uphold all relevant safety protocols, including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (PPE)
• Collaborate with developers and share information to produce high-quality parts.
• Equipment must be taken apart and its parts inspected, repaired, or replaced to ensure its proper and secure operation.
• Prototype parts, blueprints, drawings, and technical data can provide insight into the processes and steps required to produce a product, as well as the dimensions and tolerances of the objects themselves.

Skills:

• Experts in machine technology, construction, and operation, as well as power/control devices, are needed in the industrial machining sector.
• A minimum of two years of experience in the field is required, as well as a two-year associate degree in mechanical or automotive engineering.
• Proven skill with both hand and machine tools is expected.
• For precise measurements, you can use tools like calipers, micrometers, drop gages, and gage blocks.
• Work in extreme heat, which could reach over 120 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer.
