Assists with meal preparation as instructed by the Dietary Manager or supervisor, and in accordance with established procedural norms. Stores, serves, and transports food and supplies according to facility procedures. Is also in charge of cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining the equipment.

Qualifications:

• Assures personal adherence to rights of residents; adheres to safety regulations; follows the diet manager’s program.
• Help prepare and cook food while following safety rules and state and federal rules, Getting drinks ready and giving them out, Setting up for meal service and moving trays.
• Bloodborne pathogens, infectious disease management measures, hazardous materials and fire safety are all covered under this policy.
• Garbage removal from the kitchen and cleaning of trash cans is a need, as is working quickly and efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Help is required to clean the work areas, dining room floor, and the tables and chairs that go along with them after each meal and sometimes after special events. At the end of the shift, you should sweep and then wash the floor.
• Helps the chef prepare and serve meals. Toast, sandwiches, coffee, tea, and juice are available. Peel and cut produce. Morning continental breakfast for residents.
• Assuring that all federal, state, and facility regulations for sanitation and infection control are adhered to, including the cleanliness and orderliness of dishes, tableware, and other dining room equipment.
• the practice of doing one’s own cleaning on a regular basis or in advance (such as wiping work tables and butcher blocks, sweeping and mopping floors, conducting dishwashing and cleaning processes)
• Food trays are prepared for patients’ rooms, and this person helps out. Collects food options from patients in conjunction with the kitchen staff. Clean all food trays and prep items in the kitchen with your help.
• Meals and snacks may be provided to residents by this individual in the dining room, where they may be served. Help is always appreciated with the beverages at the table.

Skills:

• Ability to deal effectively with coworkers and residents, Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Previous experience as a Dietary Aide or in food preparation is required. Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Subject to a medical exam to determine prior sickness linked to tuberculosis, mumps, measles, and other screening.
• At least six months of experience in food service is preferred, and you must have a good report on how to drive a car. To be considered for an internal transfer, an employee must be in good standing (based on evaluations, work history, corrective actions, etc.).
• a good grasp of the English language a working knowledge of mathematics of a basic level, The ability to work quickly and effectively while juggling several tasks.
• You should have hospital dietary assistant experience and basic computer skills. Simple online browsing skills.
