Job Description

Financial and business transaction data is prepared and maintained in accordance with approved protocols by the Accounting Coordinator, who also generates reports to verify that the accounting records are correct and complete. Complex clerical and entry-level accounting tasks are part of the duties performed. Accounting and bookkeeping duties at a basic level are handled by this employee. Entries transactions into the journal or voucher, examines the correctness of the information, and reconciles the accounts. Claims, bills, invoices, and vouchers are sorted, posted, and checked for accuracy. Interacts with customers, vendors, and coworkers in a professional way, ensuring that inquiries are promptly and accurately handled. Serves as a team player within the department and organization, as needed, and does whatever task provided to best serve the firm.

Qualifications:

  • Participates in training programs to advance their knowledge, abilities, and safety on the job.
  • Assists in the examination and reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers with general ledger control accounts, such as material inventories, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • In addition to writing letters and memos, this person also works on special projects as needed.
  • Answers basic questions from members about accounts, billing, payments, excessive bills, complaints, outage notifications, and other service order-related issues that come up over the phone or through walk-in members.
  • Keeps track of and reports on operational budgets, and helps department managers analyze and justify budget performance.
  • Within the customer information system, process and update member service orders such as new member connections, transfers, meter swaps, difficulty calls, and excessive bill concerns.
  • As a team player, you will need to tell your coworkers important information often in a very fast-paced setting.
  • Before approving any papers, make sure they are accurate (customer, lien holder, manufacturer, county and financial information)
  • Creates departmental reports for distribution every three months, participates in the budgeting process, and verifies that departments are appropriately using software.
  • Payment reconciliation, resolution of invoice errors, and vendor file maintenance.

Skills:

  • Language skills: The capacity to read and comprehend written materials including procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and safety regulations. The capacity to compose letters and routine reports. The capacity to communicate clearly before groups of organization members or employees.
  • Ability to function well under pressure in a fast-paced, demanding, and constantly changing situation.
  • Knowledge: A fundamental comprehension of how Windows-based PC software functions. Basic knowledge in word processing and spreadsheets.
  • It is necessary to be able to do basic mathematical operations on whole numbers, normal fractions, and decimals in order to be considered math-literate. Skills in graphing, ratio-calculating, and doing percentage calculations.
  • Knowledge in finance and/or accounting from a 2-year college or technical school, as well as one to two years of related work experience, is desired; however, any combination of education and experience will do.
