Job Description

The Collections Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the Collections group, which includes a network of external partners as well as the company’s own employees. Managing individual and team performance indicators, the Collections Manager will also contribute to and implement plans for the Collections team to achieve and maintain performance in order to meet and exceed the company’s portfolio goals. When it comes to debt collection key levers and operations, the manager of collections should have a deep desire to use that expertise to help implement and deliver on current and future plans. It is imperative that this person be sensitive and focused on giving the greatest experience for all consumers, regardless of their repayment position.

Qualifications:

  • To ensure that troublesome receivables are handled effectively and that uncollected accounts are escalated appropriately, conduct regular assessments of the accounts receivable with the collections team.
  • Each member of the team should be assigned a client portfolio, and the total quantity of work should be tracked. You should make sure that everyone knows what the client billing rules are for their specific portfolios.
  • Check invoices for billing policy issues, as well as ensuring that the procedures necessary to remedy non-payment are carried out.
  • Develop and propose methods to improve the efficiency of loan and collection administration by increasing the responsiveness, resource efficiency, and service quality of work processes.
  • Establish and preserve strong ties with internal and external clients, as well as with colleagues from other departments, Examine procedures and policies, and make improvements as needed.
  • Analyze the frequency and amount of deductions, especially on electronic billing platforms, and work with the e-billing coordinator, billing manager, and billing partners to develop measures to decrease them.
  • Coordinate with the Conflicts/Intake group on methods for determining a client’s creditworthiness, documenting reasons for exceptions, and monitoring.
  • Ensures that Loan Advisors’ work is efficient and in accordance with company and legal policy by monitoring and reviewing it. In order to do this, they use techniques like formal account reviews and side-by-side monitoring to produce action plans for their team to improve any weaknesses.
  • Set daily objectives and a plan of action for their team that will optimize long-term performance. To guarantee top-notch customer service, provide ongoing training and mentoring.
  • Manage portfolio goals such as rewards, coaching/training negotiations, call campaigns, account segmentation/prioritization, automated reminder messaging, testing new campaign approaches, and assessing/creating business reasons for technological improvements.

Skills:

  • When it comes to high-volume law firm collections, it is recommended that the candidate has had at least two years of supervisory experience.
  • Knows what the Bank Secrecy Act demands, and guarantees compliance by keeping track of and properly reporting member activities.
  • Accomplished analytical and financial reporting abilities (Excel, SQL, other biz. reporting tools).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and team-building abilities, as well as the capacity to function and move about in a complex matrixed organization.
