Qualifications:

• Those who are being helped should be provided with care coordination or case management services, which may include but are not limited to the following: information and referral services; education; consultation; appointment scheduling; and participation in meetings.
• Additional therapeutic methods include psychoeducational therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, recreational therapy, parenting skills training, assertiveness training, modeling, coping skills training, and crisis intervention under the supervision of the Lead Therapist.
• Helps provide family-based treatment to assigned consumers and families utilizing predominantly the “structural family therapy” approach of systemic intervention via sessions with individuals, family subsystems, or associated collaterals.
• Under the leadership of the Lead Therapist, engages the consumer and his/her family in a process to set specific objectives for family-based treatments to keep the consumer at home.
• Maintains a nice and clean kitchen and eating area while also managing the meals that patients receive on the unit. Is skilled in the use of all unit-related biomedical equipment; addresses the specific nutritional requirements of each patient in an appropriate manner.
• Assists clients and their families in establishing effective connections with important members of the community, educational, and social service systems under the direction of the Lead Therapist. Works with various service providers to help customers and their families get the assistance they need.
• Ethics in care are identified and reported to the RN, and the competence to report suspected patient abuse or neglect is shown.
• It is the responsibility of this position to finish the recording of specified objectives for the consumer’s medical record, beginning with the intake process and continuing through discharge and after-care planning.
• Under the guidance of a qualified psychologist, determines the patient’s needs via clinical interviews, objective evaluations, and psychological testing.
• Knows what the unit’s physical plant needs are and tells an RN if something is broken or not working right. Gets things as instructed.

Skills:

• Knowledgeable, skilled, and committed to mental health Capable of assessing client data and planning activities appropriately Valid license and motor insurance.
• Licensed Graduate Professional Counselors can do graduate counseling for two years with the help of a supervisor who is allowed to do so.
• Graduate from an authorized college or university with a Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a degree in a similar clinical field, and have at least three years of experience working in a clinical setting. The needed amount of clinical experience is five (5) years, with at least two (2) of those years spent in a job that is equivalent.
• Understanding how psychiatric groups work, how therapy fits in, how growth and development change with age, how to set limits and control behavior, and how to handle violent behavior in a crisis.
• Experience developing therapeutic items is a benefit, as is understanding of fast, short-term treatment (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy or solution focused therapy).
