Job Description

The Credit Analyst’s primary responsibility is to support the Credit Risk team in establishing and maintaining an accurate database of client and facility information within the credit-risk platform. Various users rely on this information to fulfill regulatory reporting requirements, allocate resources, and measure the success of their customers. The Credit Analyst reports to a Credit Admin Operations Manager and offers operational support to a team of credit underwriters for a specific portfolio of credit connections.

Qualifications:

  • Insist that your team adheres to all set procedures and deadlines when responding to customer credit inquiries.
  • Review merchant account applications to determine if the accounts pose a risk within the parameters set by the Credit Policy.
  • Attend credit meetings and get knowledge of how to correctly pitch changes and brand-new banking opportunities to internal credit partners for final approval.
  • Inform the appropriate teams and clients of the outcome of the submitted applications and the rationale behind the decision.
  • Improve credit facility proposals for new and current facilities and data maintenance by consulting with colleagues in other areas or other lines of business.
  • Make any necessary revisions to the plan just before it’s released to account for any modifications that came up during negotiations.
  • Fill out facility and client details as needed before forwarding proposals for approval.
  • Calling/faxing bank and trade references to verify credit applications and bank references and applying that information to assist in making a decision on applications according to Credit Policy.
  • Manage and update Excel reporting spreadsheets used by many departments.
  • Be sure there is no client effect linked to loan closings by working together with the closing coordinators.

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for drafting reports and procedures and interacting regularly with coworkers, vendors, and superiors.
  • proficient with PCs and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Capacity to analyze situations, identify key aspects, and propose new courses of action.
  • the capacity to effectively time manages numerous projects and tasks while reaching important deadlines.
  • Excellent mathematical abilities in the area of calculating discounts, percentages, interests, commissions, and other quantities.
