Job Description

As a Budget Manager, you have the freedom to make your own decisions in the course of your work. All grants, procurement, budget preparation, Administrative Review Committee (ARC) contracts, and travel and purchase card permissions are overseen by the Budget Manager, who represents the State’s Attorney in public meetings, council sessions, and legislative hearings. They meet with other agency directors, deputy directors, elected and appointed officials to discuss management matters.

Qualifications:

  • Researches, compiles, reviews, and analyzes data for special projects; recommends, in accordance with university policy, the appropriate service and staffing levels to maintain programmatic activities and procedures; monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of programmatic activities and procedures;
  • The OMB Office of Finance addresses operational and financial matters for the assigned Division, including Agency grants. Budget planning and monitoring for state attorney (SAO).
  • Creates and analyzes income and expenditure reports; provides trend advice to supervisory staff; prepares quarterly revenue and expenditure reports to convert projections to actual expenditures in order to improve City budget reports.
  • Analyzes financial records and statistics on personnel expenditures to determine the financial resources required to carry out the program and presents budget allocation ideas for budget changes.
  • Both the operational plans and the costs are reviewed in terms of how they stack up against the services that were provided in the previous fiscal years. Reports are sent to the Supervisor, and they include recommendations for adjusting the budget.
  • In cooperation with the Director of the Agency’s Budget, offer analytic assistance to assigned projects for the formulation of business cases, projections, make-or-buy choices, rate analyses, and other financial modeling and studies.
  • In charge of overseeing the agency’s daily budget operations for assigned projects, Create business strategies that are financially sustainable, while ensuring customer satisfaction standards are met by assisting program managers in their assigned divisions in their efforts.
  • Executes different actions and duties as assigned, some of which may not be included in the job description but fit within the broad occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee’s line of work.
  • Financial and budgetary analysis documentation such as narratives, charts/graphs and presentation materials that may be shared with the OFM, the legislative staff, executive management, and external stakeholders are prepared by this position. Ensure that these items are accurate, comprehensive, and of high quality.
  • Control and management of the Center’s yearly budget as well as other financed budgets; forecasting of monies required for personnel, equipment, materials, and supplies; monitoring and recommending approval of expenditures on the basis of financial judgment.

Skills:

  • In addition to the requisite four (4) years of professional management experience, applicants must also possess professional management skills in the areas of planning, monitoring, and administering an operational budget, as well as in the areas of grant preparation and administration.
  • a degree equivalent to or greater than a bachelor’s in finance, business, accounting, or public administration from an institution or university that is approved.
  • Have a master’s degree from an approved institution in one of the following fields: accounting, business/public management, financial analysis, economics, or quantitative analysis;
  • Research-based Data has to be evaluated, discoveries need to be made, ideas need to be supported by facts and analysis, and regulations need to be understood and implemented. When speaking to and writing for an audience, use language that is accessible.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, be self-motivated, and handle several tasks at once, as well as the ability to work with and develop others as a team, are all prerequisites for this position. Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher) and graphics/desktop and Internet apps are preferred.
