The Billing Manager is in charge of overseeing and planning a department’s billing, accounts receivable, and collections activities. Designing, executing, and enforcing rules and procedures, as well as simplifying efficient billing processes across many locations, are all responsibilities of this person. Qualifications:
- Consider recommending write-offs when necessary and keeping billing rates in line with that suggestion.
- Implementation and management of rules, procedures and processes for the CIAC Extension Department to improve customer satisfaction and regulatory and policy compliance She is the driving force behind the standardization of PSCO’s processes and policies. Gaps in rules, procedures, and processes that have an impact on operational performance are actively discovered and addressed.
- Work with the Senior Billing Manager to create and maintain a set of standard processes and procedures for the billing cycle as a whole.
- Involvement in new hire interviews as well as training for the billing team, as well as the creation of resources to help in billing education for lawyers, secretaries, and legal assistants
- By collaborating with attorneys and billing employees as appropriate, maintain great working relationships between partners, administrative support people, and the Finance Department and billing team.
- Recognize the needs for training and compliance support for departments and customers. Ensure that sufficient resources are available to meet these needs. Contribute comments and ideas to other sections of the corporation about issues impacting the organization’s financial and customer satisfaction goals, as well as regulatory compliance.
- PSCO’s CIAC Extension Policy will be successful if PSCO’s internal resources and relationships are managed properly. For tariff compliance, provide leadership and assistance to extension colleagues. Develop, discuss, and execute consistent process improvements in response to changes in the Colorado tariff and SOX Key Controls. Verify that CIAC payments are being collected and processed correctly, and then authorize refunds if necessary. CIAC expansions need prompt communication to both internal and external organizations. Make that everyone involved in the CIAC extension process receives adequate training on the matter.
- Provide mentoring, training, and ongoing feedback to billing analysts (and additional offices as required), conduct annual performance reviews, manage and balance billing workloads, and oversee direct reports’ schedules and overtime.
- Make a difference in the following areas: customer happiness; training; compliance; financial effect; and audit findings; Work with the company’s executives to come up with new ideas. Find ways to better incorporate CIAC extension issues into other work processes and initiatives by working with outside parties to identify and drive process improvements.
- Maintain a complete understanding of client billing and payment terms, discount agreements, and lawyer and client preferences to ensure that invoices are sent on time and accurately, and that client and lawyer preferences are taken into account.
Skills:
- Candidates must also have excellent organizational abilities and the ability to handle several tasks and achieve tight deadlines while understanding scope, deliverables, and schedules.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, management, or a related discipline is required, as well as a minimum of five years of work experience in utility operations, regulatory, accounting, auditing, or business process work.
- A working familiarity of Aderant or similar billing industry standard collection software package, along with Microsoft Office and Excel, is required for this role to be considered.
- In order to be successful, applicants must have good verbal, writing, leadership, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
- Analytical skills that include data and method analysis, issue resolution, and collaboration with other departments.
