The Billing Coordinator is in charge of routine and advanced billing operations such as client bill review and maintenance, client billing compliance, and electronic billing. Furthermore, the Billing Coordinator will be in charge of resolving billing concerns from both internal and external clients. This job will work with Accounting and/or other departments to handle billing-related inquiries and difficulties. Electronic billing is a key component of the Billing Coordinator’s duties. This may entail producing billing instruction sheets and/or invoices for evaluation by the applicable billing partner, coordinating bill processing, generating and compiling bills and attachments, and lastly electronically delivering bills to the customer.

Qualifications:

  • Precision and promptness in performing activities and responding to inquiries.
  • There should be no further escalation in the case of e-billing rejections.
  • Compliance with client billing standards is the responsibility of this person.
  • Build, maintain, and provide professional customer service, and keep good working relationships with all contacts, both inside and outside the company. This job requires regular contact with lawyers, clients, legal administrative assistants, and other people inside and outside the firm.
  • Utilizes email and phone to follow up often with clients, attorneys, paralegals, and assistants.
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) and unbilled time and expenses on assigned attorneys, clients, and issues should be monitored to ensure timely billing and payment of client invoices. Open lines of contact with all stakeholders and resolve any issues or concerns.
  • To find answers and the best ways to satisfy client billing needs, consult with lawyers and legal administrative assistants as well as make use of all the features available in the firm’s billing systems.
  • Effectively use Microsoft Excel, the firm’s billing systems, and other reporting and information tools to respond to clients’, lawyers’, and legal administrative assistants’ information requests.
  • Billing-related enquiries should be addressed, including requests for write-offs and discount requests, as well as changes to bill templates and e-billing requests, reports, access adjustments, billing rate information, and more.
  • Manage all billing activities for allocated electronic billing clients, assigned lawyers, and any difficult clients and situations as assigned.

Skills:

  • It is essential that the person in charge of billing be conversant with legal jargon and procedures in order to keep track of the hours and expenditures that are being charged to clients.
  • Being able to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
  • Knowing how to submit appeals and bill insurance would be advantageous.

  • An undergraduate degree is the bare minimum requirement. With at the very least three years’ knowledge For entry-level roles, a thorough grasp of accounting concepts, including fund accounting, is required.
