Job Description

The Billing Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, summarizing, and reporting financial data using in-depth understanding of accounting concepts. Within the Student Account Services/Agency Billing Department, provides exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients. Interacts with students, parents, internal Company departments, and external domestic and international government agencies, corporations, non-profit organizations, and various branches of the armed forces to handle billing statements, deferral authorizations, and payment collection and application.

  • To efficiently respond to information requests from clients, attorneys, and legal administrative assistants, reports and inquiry tools in the firm’s billing systems, Microsoft Excel, and other reporting and information tools must be used.
  • Manage incoming enquiries regarding client bills, write-offs, discounts, and changes to bill templates, as well as electronic billing requests, report requests, access changes, billing rate information, and a variety of other billing-related questions.
  • Manage all billing tasks for allocated electronic billing clients, assigned lawyers, and other difficult clients and cases as assigned.
  • No additional escalation is required for e-billing rejections to be analyzed and fixed.
  • It’s important to consult with legal assistants, attorneys, and the firm’s billing systems in order to come up with best practices for satisfying client billing criteria.
  • Ensure prompt billing and payment of client bills by monitoring Accounts Receivable (AR) and unbilled time and expenditures for assigned attorneys, clients, and matters. Maintain continual touch with all stakeholders to address any difficulties or issues.
  • Accurately and promptly completes assignments and replies to queries.
  • Maintains regular contact via phone and email with clients, attorneys, paralegals, and assistants in the legal field.
  • Developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with all internal and external contacts while delivering professional customer service This position requires regular connection with firm attorneys, client contacts, legal administrative assistants, and others, both within and externally.
  • Accountable for ensuring that the company’s invoices adhere to customer billing specifications.


  • Having experience with billing insurance and filing appeals is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to work well in a team and look for opportunities to help others.
  • The bare minimum amount of education needed is a bachelor’s degree. at least three years of expertise A strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, particularly fund accounting, is a need for entry-level positions.
  • The billing coordinator should be conversant with legal jargon and practices to maintain accurate time and expense billing.
