A cook is a trained chef who has worked in a professional kitchen and can prepare a variety of dishes. This job serves as the lead cook for each site while the on-duty Chef or Sous Chefs are gone, and it may also undertake basic supervisory duties. A cook is in charge of preparing outstanding cuisine for guest restaurants, staff dining rooms, and catered special occasions.   • This individual examines items, reviews menus, estimates food requirements, verifies production, and keeps records in order to efficiently plan production needs and request supplies and equipment.
  • As needed, assist with cleaning equipment and dishwashing machines to ensure that all kitchen spaces, tools, and utensils are clean.
  • Produce high-quality hot and cold meals as directed by the Executive Chef.
  • Setting up, food preparation, organization, sanitation, and food and beverage item manufacture, as well as shutting and storing individual work stations, are all responsibilities of a cook.
  • All kitchen facilities, including storage shelves, passageways, workstations, walk-ins, refrigerators, and coolers, must be kept clean and orderly.
  • Has overall responsibility for the kitchen’s safety and efficiency while the Head Chef or Sous Chef is not present.
  • Lifting up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds, and carrying up to 30 pounds are all necessary, as well as frequent standing and walking.
  • According to the facility menu, the Cook prepares and serves food, including texture adjusted and therapeutic diets.
  • The Cook must be careful, well-dressed, professional, and a good team player.
  • Meets scheduling availability needs, including nights, weekends, and holiday times, to fulfil company demands.


  • For at least one year, you must have worked as a Cook in a high-volume, high-speed kitchen.
  • All state-mandated health department and food safety standards, as well as the Executive Chef’s expectations, including HACCP and ServSafe concepts, must be followed.
  • A high school diploma, a GED, or an equivalent is required.
  • Unless federal, state, or provincial legislation prohibits it, if you are 18 years old or older, you must be able to pass a background check as needed by Company policy, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, prior employer, education, and personal references.
  • Capable of prioritizing assignments and working together with a variety of supervisors.
