Qualifications:

• Maintain and repair vehicles in accordance with the dealership’s specifications. Make mechanical diagnoses and remedies understandable to non-technical service advisers and customers.
• Utilize all equipment in the service area in a safe manner. As soon as the job is complete, record every action taken. Mathematical fundamentals are used.
• Examine the car to determine whether it need any further safety or service maintenance. When making warranty repairs, ensure that the finished product adheres to manufacturer and dealership guidelines.
• Directly communicate with the Service Advisor to let clients know if any more service is required. Time required to make further repairs should be estimated.
• Accept repair instructions from the dispatcher and transport the vehicle to the stall area. Communication with the parts department to get required components.
• While servicing the car, search for additional issues that may need attention. Employees must adhere to all corporate safety rules and procedures, and must promptly notify a manager or supervisor of any incidents.
• Comprehends and adheres to federal, state, and municipal rules, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive vehicle systems, such as the engine, gearbox, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning, among others.
• Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the vehicle, reporting any necessary repairs and preventative maintenance to the Service Advisor, and ensuring that all maintenance services are carried out in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Perform maintenance and repair work to satisfy customers. Diagnose and fix malfunctions quickly.

Skills:

• A high school diploma or its equivalent is required, and ASE certification is a plus for applicants. Experience as a service technician for at least two years is preferred, as is the possession of strong mechanical skills.
