To help run an award-winning quarterly print magazine that focuses on the agricultural market, we are looking for an Associate Editor who is good at what they do. It is important to know how to write in AP style, how to grow food, and how to work with other teams.

Qualifications:

• When it comes to information that may not be suitable for broadcast, provide thoughtful commentary and practical counsel that is both well-written and well-spoken. Some examples of what could not be allowed on air include graphic violence or explicit language; conduct that can be copied; commercial product placement; and other images that might not be suitable for broadcast.
• For guaranteeing that all departments are on the same page when it comes to content development, you should collaborate with other departments.
• Figuring out how recipes and tales may be shared across all editorial sides of the business, and coming up with concepts and proposing them across all channels (digital, print, social, podcast, video, etc)
• Creating a planning document for each story that includes approved sources, background information, formatting guidelines, and deadlines.
• Improve your journals to ensure that the Editors in Chief and Editorial Board Members (EBM) on whom we depend are as engaged as possible.
• With the purpose of identifying areas for improvement in our processes, we constantly monitor and evaluate the systems in our departments.
• Planning of product evaluations, culinary instructions, and interviews with professional and home cooks for print and digital magazines.
• Find out how many journal submissions, publication volumes, and transfer speeds are expected to increase over the course of a year.
• In the beginning, make sure advertisements meet internal brand standards and regulatory requirements. Then look at a wide range of marketing, scientific, and other evidence that backs up ads.
• In order to guarantee that any difficulties with your journal, particularly those experienced by authors, editors, or peer reviewers, can be addressed swiftly and effectively, establish great working relationships with colleagues in production, JEO (journal editing and publishing), IT, and other areas.

Skills:

• Multiple priorities and a lot of tasks that need to be done on time in a dynamic and fast-paced environment can be difficult to manage.
• Expertise and experience in online publishing, content management systems, and content creation tools such as Adobe Photoshop.
• A minimum of three to five years of experience in journalism or writing is necessary, as is some familiarity with SEO and newsletter design.
• Capacity to communicate well with employees from various departments (Art, Photo, Test Kitchen), at all levels of the company, and with freelancers/outside contributors
• Flexibility in working with people at all levels of the organization and the capacity to work as a group
