Professional knowledge and participation in the examination of planned City projects that include Landscape and Irrigation plans and specifications are among your responsibilities. Inspections of the site and construction administration will be part of your job description, and you’ll be expected to ensure that everything is constructed in accordance with local regulations. Additionally, this position will collaborate with both internal and external departments to provide design solutions.

Qualifications:

• The ability and initiative to produce innovative and aesthetically pleasing design solutions, as well as skill in creating construction documentation using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and LandFX are required.
• Collaborates closely with department agencies, board offices, community organizations, and/or other stakeholders to plan and manage community engagement events.
• A final landscape and irrigation design must be checked on-site to ensure compliance before a certificate of occupancy is issued or cash is released.
• Consult with the planning department and other authorities to ensure that the final landscaping and irrigation plans are compliant with zoning regulations before putting them into effect.
• Responds to inquiries, suggestions, complaints, and ideas on the design of County Park facilities from individuals, community organizations, department agencies, and public authorities.
• There are a variety of tasks that the landscape architect assists with for the department, including construction administration and inspections as well as field investigations to gather information for design and/or facilities work, facility/site condition evaluation and inspection, and ADA compliance assessments.
• Supervisors and organizers are responsible for overseeing and organizing the work of consultants, as well as creating performance standards and budget estimations, as well as making progress payment reviews.
• On-site grading, landscape retention or removal, and preservation zones are all criteria for hillside overlay sites.
• Assemble an architectural and engineering team that will collaborate to develop a sustainable and resilient design that will meet regulatory standards while also adding value to the client’s bottom line.
• Evaluate current circumstances, review existing reports and data, inventory existing landscaping and enhancements, measure field conditions and identify restrictions and development potential.

Skills:

• Landscaping concepts and methods, as well as how to use plants and soil and other materials in a landscape project.
• A bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field is necessary. One year of public agency experience is preferred but not needed. Work experience may be used in place of a four-year degree.
• For this profession, the ability to multitask and self-manage schedules according to project management needs or milestones is an absolute must.
• Engineering, design, and current technology are all used to create contemporary landscape architecture.
• Supervises the preparation of contract plans, specifications, estimates, bid packages, and other contract documentation for his assigned construction projects.
