Job Description

The Drywall Finisher’s primary responsibility, with guidance from a supervisor, is to keep the work area clean and aesthetically pleasing. Carries out routine servicing, repairs, and servicing of equipment, as well as preventative maintenance, on a wide range of building systems. Engages in all facets of building management to ensure that tenants receive efficient, cost-effective service with a priority on their satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• The best way to maintain a secure and sanitary environment is to adhere to all applicable regulations. PPE is required at all times (PPE).
• Before painting or finishing, walls and ceilings should be treated with texturizing chemicals or primers. Metal molding is used to join metal studs and wallboard.
• Effectively communicates and collaborates with the supervisor, client, and other trades and subcontractors to ensure high-quality, on-time, cost-effective maintenance with seamless service continuity and coordination.
• Repaints, replaces, and/or repairs vinyl wallpaper; paints, stains, and/or adds other finishes to interior surfaces for the purpose of improving their appearance and extending their durability (roller, brush, and spray applications). Uses hand and power tools to smooth out and repair walls, floors, and doors made of wood, metal, and other materials, and does other tasks connected to the role of Finisher.
• Collaborate with others to ensure the products we produce are high-quality and efficient.
• Show up on time and follow the department’s attendance policies.
• Keeping an open line of contact with your supervisor, reporting any problems you’re having on the job, and making the most efficient and safe use of all equipment and supplies.
• We want you to act as a good steward by taking care of the company’s physical property, reporting maintenance issues, and keeping your assigned area neat and tidy.
• Spread sealing compound with trowels, wide knives, or spatulas between boards or panels, or over cracks, holes, nail heads, or screw heads.
• Help your Team Leader and Region Coordinator coordinate production in your area by reporting on anticipated material shortages, pointing out when tools need maintenance, and discussing any issues with quality or output.

Skills:

• High school courses including carpentry, shop, and mechanical drawing
• In addition to a high level of self-confidence and the ability to take the lead, a successful application also requires the candidate to continue learning and developing their skills.
• There is a lot of bending, standing, and walking involved, as well as lifting up to 40 pounds, using a grip, working above the head, and pushing at the chest.
• Experience working in either the construction or manufacturing sectors is preferred.
• The ability to communicate effectively is crucial.
