Job Description

All fundraising initiatives for the organization are overseen by the Development Director. The Development Director secures grants, solicits individual donations, and creates fundraising campaigns under the supervision of the Executive Editor. Strategic planning, prospecting, cultivating, and retaining funders, as well as grant compliance and reporting, are all important responsibilities.

  • In frequent communication with the Director of State Operations, timely reports and other information as needed are delivered as part of the job description. Reimbursement requests may be tracked and managed online.
  • Manages government grants/contracts, including reporting, maintaining agency connections, and testifying. Develops a statewide public awareness approach using volunteers
  • Annual tours or business visits with 50 community leaders Ability to construct and assess donor databases and set realistic fundraising goals based on relationships, donor desires, and historical giving performance.
  • With the help of their Grant Writer and State Development Department, conducts research to find grant possibilities and then produces grant applications to be submitted to foundations.
  • Educate and involve donors in all cycles of move management and methods to give to the organization. Check gift acquisition, reacquisition, renewals, and scheduled giving.
  • To meet the demands of the local community, he builds partnerships with local graphic designers, public relations specialists, and advertising firms. For the expansion state website, he or she organizes material and photographs and uses Benevolence database to engage with participants and the community.
  • Setting and reaching annual fundraising goals, making and carrying out development plans, and talking to different stakeholders are all things that a development director does directly.
  • It is up to the organization to find, train, and grow volunteers who are willing to make personal commitments to the organization’s solicitation process, which includes processing gifts and writing thank-you letters to donors.
  • Develops and executes significant fundraising events to fulfill revenue targets–must work with local event committees and adhere to event committee benchmarks/structure, in collaboration with their Director of State Development.
  • In charge of managing all fundraising operations in the state, including but not limited to foundation and corporate giving, individual giving, big donations, special events, yearly giving, and relationships with alumni/parents


  • Positive attitude, ability to work well in a team and pay attention to details; high level of initiative; outstanding interpersonal communication skills; capacity to engage in public speaking events; shown proficiency in writing simply and convincingly.
  • At least four to seven years of fundraising experience, including a track record of building a donor base through cultivation and stewardship, grant writing, event planning/implementation, and/or board administration.
  • The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree and five to ten years of direct sales or business development experience in the service sector or a non-profit organization.
  • Shown that they can communicate well both in writing and in person, and that they know how to use software like Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • In addition to extensive expertise and an in-depth grasp of the importance of donor communication, including but not limited to updates, bulletins, and brochures, is needed.
