The job of Assistant Operations Manager provides a dedicated, team-oriented person with the chance to assist with plant operational processes, such as raw material acquisition, product processing, quality assurance, and shipment of high-quality finished products.

  • Schedules Library Page employees depending on the projected workload and ensures that proper staffing levels are maintained to suit the library’s needs.
  • As needed, one might help with direct reports’ tasks or with customer service and circulation.
  • In order to meet the demands for library staffing, coordinate daily work-flow with the operations manager.
  • Recruits, screens, and hires new Library Pages as necessary. Oversees the timely and accurate completion of all paperwork necessary for new hires.
  • Demand the finest possible job performance from employees.
  • Participates and contributes to the overall management of the region’s library system. A member of the regional management team. Cooperative work environments can be fostered.
  • When necessary, takes on the role of operations manager. These responsibilities may include handling operations-related issues directly or referring them to others, handling customer and staff problems, conflicts, and incidents, and making sure the Code of Conduct is followed.
  • Ensures the daily upkeep and repair of the designated facility in their capacity as a Facilities Management Services contact.
  • As needed, aids with the scheduling of library librarians, public service assistants, and technical assistants.
  • Provides Library Pages with initial and ongoing training, and ensures that all library policies and procedures are adhered to.


  • A high school diploma or the equivalent is necessary for the role, along with some basic supervisory experience. Preferably, you have some college experience.
  • To be able to handle and resolve complaints from consumers with behavioral issues.
  • Ability to use diplomacy and tact to create and sustain relationships with colleagues, peers, and customers.
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of library operations, with a focus on those that pertain to lending and borrowing.
  • The role requires a minimum of two years of library experience to be considered for the position. Recommendation: Supervisory experience needed
